MANY consumers are wondering if Chick-fil-A will be open on Thanksgiving Day.
With the holiday right around the corner, we take a look at the fast food chain's hours of operation.
On Thanksgiving, people often enjoy turkey with an array of sides, but sometimes, Americans crave a juicy Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich and signature waffle fries.
Unfortunately, consumers will be unable to purchase those items on Thursday, November 23, 2023, because the chain will be closed in honor of the holiday.
On the company's website, it states that the decision was made "so our restaurant teams can spend time with family and friends," according to Parade.
Stores nationwide are expected to reopen the following day but will be closed again on the upcoming Sunday, as usual.
In addition to being closed on Thanksgiving, Chick-fil-A is also closed on Christmas Day.
The chain is, however, open for almost every other federal holiday, including Juneteenth, Independence Day, and Labor Day, among others.
Chick-fil-A also celebrates other holidays, like Teacher Appreciation Day, International Women’s Day, and Nurse Appreciation Week, according to its website.
Chick-fil-A was first founded in Georgia in 1946 by Truett Cathy, and since then, the fast food giant has always been closed on Sundays.
The decision to close stores on Sundays was made by the chain's founder, as a nod to his religious beliefs.
"Having worked seven days a week in restaurants open 24 hours, Truett saw the importance of closing on Sundays so that he and his employees could set aside one day to rest and worship if they choose — a practice we uphold today," the company writes on its website.
Normal hours of operation are 6 am to 10 pm Monday through Saturday, however, these times may vary based on location so it is best to check with local stores for exact times.
Breakfast is served from 6 am to 10:30 am, followed by lunch and dinner until 10pm.
